Uttar Pradesh Police Probe Suspected Irregular Pension Claims and Wider Financial Network
The Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested five retired Education Department employees in connection with an alleged pension fraud case in Varanasi. Investigators allege the accused fraudulently obtained pension benefits, causing wrongful loss to the government exchequer.

- Banwari Singh Yadav (71)
- Patiraj Ram (67)
- Dubri Singh Yadav (66)
- Ram Awadh Singh Yadav (66)
All five are retired employees of the Education Department.
FIR Registered Under BNS
An FIR has been registered at Kotwali Police Station under the following provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita:
- Section 318(4)
- Section 338
- Section 336(3)
- Section 340(2)
Authorities are investigating the duration of the alleged fraud, the amount of pension allegedly obtained unlawfully, and whether additional individuals participated in the scheme.
